I will certainly be glad when Halloween is over. The leftover candy is going to work so I will stop eating it.

A few months ago, one of my online friends held a little contest where you had to guess the number of bread ties he had accumulated over the course of a year. I was one of two people to come the closest, and my prize arrived today! He's a photographer in Australia and this is one of his shots he had made into a postcard. I think it's pretty cool.

Liz came by today and brought her sewing with her. She's an art major at UNCC, and this is her latest project. She has pretty much self taught herself to sew, with the help of YouTube. This project is a costume based on a Japanese Vocaloid (voice synthesizing program) character, Luka Megurine, that is an octopus. She created the pattern herself and is not quite finished but you can see how talented she is.

This past week was Red Ribbon Week in our school system. It's basically a week of learning about "Just Say No". One of my schools had an assembly this afternoon, and the high school cheerleaders made a guest appearance. Needless to say, the elementary kids thought they were way cool.

Thug sent us in another tail spin today. We were trying to wean him off the steroids, and he not only started stumbling around again, he also stopped going to the bathroom. He was due for a pill today, and after about 5 hours he turned back into his old self. So, that meant another call to the vet and we are going to continue daily doses of steroids for another two weeks. Both Donald and I know we will have to make a decision about his quality of life sooner or later. I'm happy we didn't have to do that today. In the meantime, I'll let him sit on my lap for as long as he wants.
