Such a beautiful night tonight! We sat out on the deck watching the birds. A noise above our heads startled us, and when we looked up, the squirrel was eating the flowers on the maple tree. At least it wasn't the food from the bird feeder.

When I was a little girl, I would lay on the floor underneath our coffee table and unscrew the wing nuts that were holding the legs in place. I've told this story many times to Donald and the girls, they of course just laughed. Recently, my mother gave us the coffee table and we're going to use it in our den. Donald spent some time cleaning it today, and when he flipped it over, he found my signature. Proof positive of my childhood shenanigans.

When they asked my uncle if he had anything he wanted to say, all he said was, "It's been a good ride."

I did a little gardening today, which included pulling up some volunteer oak trees. This one pulled up perfectly, with the acorn still attached! Too bad I'm not a classroom teacher anymore. How much fun would it be to show this to students?

Did you know that restaurants will typically sell you the glasses if you want them? They are usually between $2 and $4. This one was 4, and they even washed it for us.

These five ducks live in the pond, and they travel everywhere in a pack, not to mention how vocal they were! They quacked and quacked so much that a still picture just doesn't do it justice.
