Dottie had a big day on Saturday! She presented a research paper at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte, where she did an absolutely amazing job. Afterward, she wanted to go out to eat at The Penguin. There was a 30 minute wait for a table, so we enjoyed getting to know her friends and professors outdoors.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I know it's not the same animal as Caddy Shack, but it reminded me so much of the gopher, that this had to be my photo of the day!

For a long time, the squirrels have been driving me crazy eating from the bird feeder. I've tried safflower seeds, which are supposed to deter them. I've tried hot pepper powder. I've even created a feeder just for them. But, they still like to eat from the bird feeder. Then I saw this little guy. Go ahead, Buddy. You can eat all you want.

This particular house was uncovered when they were clearing woods for a new development. I saw it when I was driving between schools today and had to stop.

Some of the things I often overlook are parts of our everyday life. Thus, I present the door from our garage into the house. We use this door more often than any other. All our family uses this door, as well as our closest friends. You can even see where the dog scratches the door when he wants to come inside. I guess you could say this door represents the portal into our most private lives.

The crazy thing is that our lives have had a strange parallel, both became teachers and we both now work in instructional technology! It does my soul good!
