I almost missed this. If it hadn't been for Patrick wanting to play outside, I would have never seen the daffodils blooming. The wind was blowing so hard I couldn't get a good shot.

Patrick got his first hair cut today. Just like that, he looks like all grown up. According to the report from his dad, he cried like crazy, but never moved. Big thanks to Jon for sending me pictures.

I think it has been a while since I have given an update on Thug. If you remember, back in October we almost lost him. He got to where he could hardly walk, and even standing was hard. When I took him to the vet, they did x rays and determined he has some neurological damage in his spine. They started him on prednisone, and he has done remarkably well! We're at the point now where he takes a pill every other day, and he can still function quite well. He's even looking for and bringing me toys to play. But the best news of all, last night he wagged his tail. I didn't think I would ever see him do that again.

Donald and I have worked all day in the kitchen in the Wilmington house. Neither one of us thought about a before/ after picture until we were finished. We've cleaned, re-arranged and purged today. What this means, Shelly and Maryanne, is that we're one step closer to belong ready for a girl's weekend.

It's a work in progress. Donald has been working to repaint and modernize the girls' bathroom upstairs. We've gone from yellow to this green color and we're updating all the fixtures as well.

What a glorious day! The temperature got up to 74 and the sun was out. I took the opportunity to spend some time outdoors, and took a hike down to the lake. Of course I took the camera along in the hopes I might see something interesting. I didn't, although I did take lots of pictures that I thought turned out really well. It was when I got back and ate lunch out on the deck that I saw this owl hanging around our back yard. I feel pretty luck that I got to see it, and even luckier that I got close enough to get a shot.

My appetite returned today, sometime around 2 or 3. Since then, I've made Chex mix, homemade mustard, garlic knots, and sautéed squash. Hello, Food. I missed you.

I am back among the land of the living! I actually went to work for a half day yesterday, and a full day today. I know I'm not 100% yet, but I am certainly getting there. In the meantime, I noticed this funny sight outside our office building. It turns out my boss put it there as a joke for the person who has that office. They didn't think anyone would notice.

Absent

Sorry for my absenteeism. Donald and I both came down with a nasty little bug that has had us both under the weather for a couple of days. To make up for it, here's a cute video of Patrick playing with his favorite toy from Christmas.

I attended a funeral today for a girl who is exactly my age. After the service, the family invited everyone out to this barn for a meal. It was a nice ending to a sad day.

I hope you aren't getting tired of sunset pictures, but the beauty of this one almost took my breath away as I was driving home from work. So much so, I actually pulled over and got out the car. I wasn't alone, three other cars also stopped.

Last night, I got out the Wii Fit to do a little exercise. It told me it had been 360 days since I had last used it. Then it told me I had gained 13 pounds since the last time I had used it. So, today I started counting calories again. By the time I got home, I was STARVING. I found a recipe online for a skinny tuna noodle casserole, so decided to give it a whirl. I guess it's only skinny if you eat one serving. Donald and I ate almost 2/3 of it, and that's a 9 x 13 pan.
