We took a little walk around the woods and noticed how the pine trees hold on to the snow with their needles. Kind of pretty, don't you think?

I haven't devoted much time to taking pictures lately. It seems I have just been snapping whatever to fulfill the photo a day. Today I took some time to walk around to see what I could see. This is a tree outside my office. I love the contrast of brown and green.

Here we have my beloved green coat. It took me a long time to love it, but now it's my favorite. I bought it at a dress shop in downtown Louisburg. It was on the clearance rack, and I paid all of $25 for it. Too good of a deal to pass up!

I start a 5 day professional development session tomorrow and one of the things we talk to teachers about is the importance of reflection. Thinking over what you have done, what works, what doesn't, what you'll change next time. So how does this story fit with this picture? Notice the reflection of the heater in the window.

I found a website today that gives ideas each day for taking pictures. Today's photo challenge was to find a body of still water and take a picture of something reflected in it. I knew there was a little stream behind school so I grabbed the camera and headed out. It has been ridiculously cold lately, and it hasn't gotten above freezing for at least 4 days, very unusual for NC. Anyway, the little stream was frozen, so you get a picture of the ice.

Tonight Donald and I decided to try the new Shucker's in Wake Forest. We loved the old one, but the previous owners sold it sometime last year. While the new one was good, it lacked the charm of the old one. The food was good, but not great, and we both felt like we had been "herded" through our meal. Will we go back? Maybe, but there was nothing there that makes either one of us want to rush back tomorrow.
