I had limited internet access this weekend and waiting until I got home to upload Saturday's photo. Sorry for the wait! Here's a little anole in my in-laws back yard. He was trying to scare me away by flashing his red throat.

Donald and I got to do something fun and different on Friday. There was a golf tournament just a few miles away from our house so we decided to go check it out. It was a part of the Nationwide Tour, so the guys playing are like the "minor league" in baseball. I've never known that much about golf, but I can at least follow what's going on. This guy's name is Scott Sterling, and I love the look of concentration on his face. He was on the fairway of the 10th hole, and just took his shot to the green.

Sometimes I get lucky and see something really cool AND I have my camera. This is what happened today as I was walking home from the pool. I'm not sure if it is a moth or butterfly, but I thought it was really pretty.

My latest attempt to deter the squirrels. I figure if I can't beat 'em, give 'em their own food. Donald said during the day today, one squirrel guarded the feeder like it was sacred, bullying all the other squirrels and not letting them get near.

For the longest time, I thought I we had bumble bees in our yard. Then, we started noticing little piles of sawdust under our chairs. Unfortunately, they are wood boring, carpenter bees. From our research, we've learned that the males don't sting, but they put on a while intimidation act trying to scare you away. While I was trying to get this picture, he flew so close to me that I could feel the breeze from his wings.

We're painting the outside of our house. Donald is doing the majority of the work himself, but we'll need to get help when we move to the front. You can't tell from this picture, but just on the other side of the deck is a drop equivalent to another floor level. Consequently, he's not allowed to go up on the ladder on that end of the deck unless I'm home.
