The room I have at FES has become the dumping grounds for all things unwanted. Someone put an old opaque projector (remember those) in there. This is me and my room reflected in the lens.

Nothing spectacular about this daffodil, until you know the story. Last year, my sister in law dug up some of her bulbs and gave me a box of them. I never got around to planting them so they have been sitting in the box outside our garage in the backyard. Today, when i went around the corner I couldn't help but smile when I saw this pretty flower.

Bluebirds are my favorite, for the simple reason that they are blue. This little guy has been trying to decide if he wants to start his family in my bluebird house or somewhere else. He will hang out at the entrance of the house, but never goes in. Just yesterday Donald saw the female. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

UNC-Charlotte, this campus has grown so much since I was a student here. This shot attempts to capture the old and the new. You can see the dorm where I lived to the right (white building). To the left of the tall, brick building is the Belk Tower. Everything else you see is new.

For some odd reason, I have a fascination with old cemeteries. This cemetery happens to be on the school grounds of our newest elementary school. I could spend hours in there looking at the graves and wondering about the people who are buried there. This particular grave is of a six month old little girl that died in 1910. Makes me sad to think of how her parents must have felt, and how much they must have loved her.

When I first moved into this house, I wanted some sort of border by the driveway. I spent one spring break digging a small trench and hauling rocks from the backyard for the rock wall. We selected pachysandra for the ground cover. I had no idea it would bloom, but am delighted that it does!
Incidentally, the building of this rock wall is how I originally hurt my back. That's why it's not finished. Maybe one day.

I had to dash from one school to another today, but on my way out of the parking lot I noticed the cherry trees were blooming. Of course, I had to stop and take a few pictures. The last few days it hasn't felt like spring, but no one told the flowers.

These flowers grow in our front yard. Donald thinks they are weeds, and keeps mowing them down. I think they are beautiful so I dug some up and planted them by the mailbox. The yard flowers keep coming up, and they grow much better than the ones I planted at the mailbox! Does anyone know what they are?

All day long they've been calling for snow. Now they tell us it will happen overnight. The dilemma is should I take a chance that schools will be closed and I'll have a day off or not? March is certainly coming in like a lion this year.
